Manual Credit Card Entry

What is it?

Manual credit card entry is a payment method that allows you to manually enter the customer's credit card information without swiping or inserting the card. 

Please use manual credit card entry AS A LAST RESORT.

When do I use Manual Credit Card entry?

There are three instances in which entering credit card information manually is permitted.
1. When processing a payment over the phone for a rental.
2. When a customers physical card is not scanning or swiping correctly. (Chip or magnetic strip is damaged).
3. When your supervisor specifically requests you process payment using this method.

How to:

FYI (Instructions are the same for both small office credit card terminals shown below in images, and the larger customer facing terminals).

1. When processing a payment, as always, you'll need to select a Pay Code.

2. Select Manual Credit Card - Manual Credit Card from the Pay Code drop down.

3. Click Process.

4. The Credit Card terminal will then ask you to verify the amount being charged.
5. Press the Green button to accept the amount shown.

6. On the following screen that reads Manual Entry - type in the customer's card number using the keys on the terminal.
7. When you finish entering the customers card number, press the Green button to proceed.

8. The next screen reads Enter Expiration Date and will default to the current month. (ex: this picture was taken in November of 2017 so it defaults to 11/17)
9. Hit the yellow button to delete this month/year date.
10. Type in the expiration date as it reads on the card (ex 09/19).
11. Hit the Green button to proceed.

12. The next screen reads Enter CVV Code and will default to 123. The CVV code is also known as the 3 digit security code sometimes found on the rear of the card.
13. Hit the yellow button to delete the CVV code, and enter the three digit security code.
14. After the CVV code is entered, hit the Green button to proceed and the card will process.

15. The credit card terminal will notify you if the transaction processed successfully - and then complete in PARKS DIRECT.
