How to create a section for summer day camps

Updated on

Locate the camp in PARKS DIRECT

Sign in to PARKS DIRECT and go to Management > Activity Management > Activity Management on the sidebar menu.

Navigate the data grid and highlight the summer day camp that you want to create a section for.

Select Section Management once you’ve highlighted the summer camp on the datagrid.

Filter the Activity Management window by entering Day Camps into the Type box then press Enter on your keyboard. Or, if you know the camp's activity code, you can enter it in the Activity Code box.

On the Activity Section Management window, select Add on the bottom-left corner.

If you see the Default Record Add pop-up window, select Continue.

Enter your camp's section information

1. Core

Fill in all the necessary information that is marked red with an asterisk and check off the days of the week that the camp will meet.

Make sure you are on the Core tab.

Go here for the Section code cheat sheet.

Scroll down then select WebTrac Settings. PARKS DIRECT will expand the camps's WebTrac settings.

Enter the camp's keyword search phrases into the Keyword Search box. Separate keywords and phrases with a comma. Add as many keywords or phrases as you'd like.

Keyword search phrases help customers quickly locate the programs they're interested in. When customers enter your program's keyword into WebTrac's search box, they will see your program listed as a result.

In Additional Settings, select the check boxes next to the options as necessary. For example, you may need to select Child Care Activity.

2. Fees

Select the Fees tab on the top of the window, and enter your cost center into the box, or select it from the picklist.

Scroll down and select Link Set > Link SDC Fees, which will let you add the appropriate day camp standard fee to your section.

If you don't see Link Set as Unchangeable, then select Link Set > Link SDC Fees (Summer Day Camp Fees).

Enter Day Camp in the Description box and press Enter on your keyboard. Then pick the correctly tiered day camp fee and select Create Set Link (Template).

Before moving on, note that the fee and payment schedule are on to your section.

3. Rules

Select the Rules tab on the top of the window. Next, select Link Set > Add Rule from Template to add the appropriate age rule (the camp's age range) to your section.

Highlight the Age Range - Day Camp rule then select Create Set Template on the bottom-left corner of the window.

Highlight the age rule template that you added to the datagrid then select Change > Change Rule on the bottom of the Activity Section Update window.

Scroll down and, in the Linked Criteria area, highlight the rule Age and select Change.

On the Criteria Update pop-up window, enter the correct age range in the Begin Age and End Age box. Keep in mind which activity you're creating the section under. When you're done select Save.

Check the table below if your unsure which numbers your should enter in the Begin Age and End Age boxes.

Category Minimum Begin Age Maximum End Age
Preschool 3.50 5.99
Children & Youth 6.00 12.99
Teens 13.00 17.99
Adults 18.00 59.99

There's still more to save! Follow the last few steps below to save your camp's section.

Save your camp's section

When you have finished adding all of your camp's section information (core, fees, and rules), select Save on the bottom-left corner of the Activity Section Update window.
