When creating a section, you can add holidays and skip-days to your program's schedule or create a completely customized schedule.
Log in to PARKS DIRECT and select the menu icon on the upper-left corner of the screen.
Then, on the side bar menu, go to Management > Activity Management > Activity Management.
Find and select your activity on the datagrid and highlight it. Next, select Section Management.
On the Activity Management window, enter a description of the activity for your section in the Short Description box. Or, if you know the activity code, you can enter it in the Activity Code box. Then press Enter on your keyboard.
On the Activity Section Management window, highlight the section you want to add holidays to, and select Change on the bottom-left corner. PARKS DIRECT will bring you to the window for creating sections under the activity you chose.
To add holidays, skip days, or a custom program schedule, select Custom Schedule & Holidays; it's the red button at the bottom-right of the Core tab.
To add skip-days that are an official Prince George's Parks and Recreation holiday (4th of July, New Years, etc.) by selecting More > Add System Holidays on the bottom of the Activity Schedule Update pop-up window.
PARKS DIRECT will automatically remove the days that your section lands on a holiday. It will also check the Holiday checkbox and insert a description of the holiday.
To add skip-days that aren't an official Parks and Recreation holiday, select Add on the bottom of the Activity Schedule pop-up window.
Enter the information in the Activity Schedule Update pop-up window for the day you want to skip. Then select Save when you're done entering the skip-day's information.
Be sure to check the Holiday checkbox to ensure the system reads this as a holiday (rather than a custom schedule).
To create a completely customized program schedule, instead of adding holidays, use the same process under Add skip-day holidays (above) but do not check the holiday checkbox.
For example, the section below uses a custom schedule, as the holiday checkboxes do not have a check mark. Once you save a section with a custom schedule, the Custom Schedule & Holidays button will turn red.
