Fix VIC Not Recognizing RecTrac in Chrome After Windows 11 Update

Updated on

Due to a recent Windows 11 update, users are experiencing an issue where VIC fails to recognize RecTrac when accessed through Google Chrome. Unfortunately, VSI has not yet provided a fix for this problem. However, there is a workaround available that allows users to resolve the issue without needing admin privileges. To reset permissions in Google Chrome, you'll need to adjust your browser settings to ensure that everything functions smoothly.

Here’s a step-by-step guide to resetting permissions in Chrome:

Reset Permissions for Specific Sites

VIC/RecTrac require specific permissions (like camera, microphone, popups, etc.) which you can adjust directly in Chrome:

  1. In Chrome, select to the three vertical dots in the top right corner.
  2. From the drop-down menu that displays, select Settings.

  1. Select Privacy and Security, then choose Site Settings.
  2. In the Site Settings menu, find and select Recent Activity.
  3. Under Recent Activity, click the arrow next to RecTrac (myvscloud.com).
    • If that does not show under Recent Activities, select View Permissions and Data.
  4. Select Reset Permissions.
