Symptoms:
Occasionally the credit card terminal display will appear frozen, stuck on a screen that says "remove card" or an entirely black screen. It is not necessarily broken, and will usually allow you to process payment despite appearing to not take any actions at all.
Causes:
This occurs due to a brief loss of connection with the terminal.
Fix:
- Log out of PARKS DIRECT and keep the session (this will allow you to return to exactly where you were before the freeze occurred).
- Press and hold the yellow CLEAR button and the minus (-) button until you hear a chime.
- Wait for the reader to finish rebooting.
- Restart VIC by following the steps listed here.
- Log in to PARKS DIRECT and continue your session.
- If that doesn't work, try restarting your computer and logging back into PARKS DIRECT.
