PARKS DIRECT program categorization
Updated onArticleThe PARKS DIRECT software offers many different options for program categorization. Taking advantage of these different program categories can help make the registration process easier for customers (such as multiple ticket purchases, guest purchases, or reservation blocks), in addition to providing programmers with tools to help administer their programs (such as league schedules, rental packages, or billing options).
With so many different options available, it is important to understand their differences to determine the best fit for your program. This is important not only so you can locate and manage the program within PARKS DIRECT, but also so we can communicate to customers where to find and register for programs.
The Help Desk is continually reviewing and revising our programming categorizations to help take advantage of these benefits, and we welcome these conversations with programmers! The charts below are a starting point for understanding your options within PARKS DIRECT, and can help start the conversation on how to best represent your programs to our customers.
How to use the charts below:
- The different colored blocks are different “modules” within PARKS DIRECT, or different ways to represent your program in the software. They allow for different options based on the type.
- The questions in the flowchart can help determine which module may be the best fit, or at least where we can start. It may be determined later that a different module works
- After arriving at a module, there are still a number of configuration options available. The configuration worksheet contains questions that can be asked of any offering within PARKS DIRECT to ensure we are offering the best experience to our customers.
(Note: these questions should be used as guides, not a comprehensive checklist or requirements)

Kids Care Payment Schedule
Updated onArticleUpdated for 2023-2024 school year
The scheduled payment plan for Kids Care programs breaks down its total cost into 10 installments, with the additional $25 registration fee due at the time of registration (which begins June 21, 2023).
The first installment will be due on August 1 for all Kids Care programs registered before August 1. The following installments are due during school year months, from September May; the balances will appear on the first of each month and are considered late after the tenth.
The total cost of the Kids Care program is distributed approximately among the 180 service days of the school year. Since there are 10 scheduled installment payments, each payment covers roughly 18 days worth of service. These are fixed amounts, so scheduled monthly payments do not change for months with fewer school days (like December).
