RecTrac (PARKS DIRECT) and WebTrac Overview

Updated on

RecTrac (PARKS DIRECT)

RecTrac (PARKS DIRECT) is one of the leading systems for use by Parks & Recreation agencies across the country.  The vendor is Vermont Systems, Inc. (VSI).

The Prince George's County Department of Parks & Recreation implemented RecTrac (PARKS DIRECT) to replace Active Network's Class software (SMARTlink) which was end-of-life.

The Department is currently using RecTrac version 3.1.10.

RecTrac (PARKS DIRECT) is what is known as "software-as-a-service" (SaaS). Data is stored on VSI servers, and they handle backups, maintenance, and upgrades. It can be accessed using an internet browser from anywhere in the world with an internet connection.

WebTrac

WebTrac is the customer-facing side of RecTrac (PARKS DIRECT). It uses the same database as RecTrac (PARKS DIRECT).

WebTrac gives our customers the real-time capability to:

  • Search and register for courses, programs, and trips.
  • Register and renew pass memberships.
  • Reserve tennis courts.
  • Purchase event tickets, merchandise, etc.
  • View league schedules and standings.
  • View and update household and family member data.
  • Make payment by credit card.
  • Print receipts, calendars, and child care statements.

For most WebTrac transactions, we require payment. Some programs and passes are setup to allow customers to opt for installment bills.

Customers may create their own household account on WebTrac. Accounts created in this manner are flagged as Non-Resident and customers must go to a facility in-person to verify their residency.
