Add recipe items

Updated on

With PARKS DIRECT, you can "bundle" recipe items in another POS item. PARKS DIRECT will track the separate inventories of each recipe item whenever the bundled POS item with recipe items is sold.

Examples:

  • Sell a cheeseburger (POS item with a recipe), and deduct inventory from cheese, beef patty, and bun (recipe items).
  • Sell a case of skeet ammunition (POS items with a recipe), and deduct inventory from boxes of ammunition (recipe items).

In other words, recipe items (a type of POS items) are the "ingredients" bundled in a POS item's recipe.

1. Sign in to PARKS DIRECT and then select Management > POS Management > Inventory Management on the sidebar menu.

Before proceeding to the next step, ensure that all the recipe items you need are in PARKS DIRECT's database.

  • To add a recipe item to the database, use the Add Recipe Item button on the bottom-left of the POS Inventory Management screen.

2. Either find an existing POS item on the POS Inventory DataGrid and use the Change button or use the Add Inventory Item button to create a new POS item.

3. Stay on the Core tab of the POS item you want the recipe items bundled in.

4. Check the Has A Recipe checkbox, and PARKS DIRECT will enable the Recipe tab.

5. Select the Recipe tab.

6. Select the Add Recipe Item button near the bottom-left of the Recipe tab. PARKS DIRECT will open the POS Recipe Item Update prompt.

7. Enter the recipe item you're in the Recipe Item box. Use the picklist icon on the box's right to search for recipe items.

8. The Quantity box determines how many recipe items PARKS DIRECT will remove from the inventory whenever the bundle is sold (Example: 10 boxes of ammunition when 1 case is sold).

9. Enter a number into the Print Order box. This number determines the order of items on the Recipe Items DataGrid.

10. Select Save on the bottom-right of the prompt.

Repeat steps six through 10, adding as many recipe items as you need.

10. Once you've added all recipe items, return to the POS item's other tabs and complete any remaining data entry requirements. Lastly, select Save on the bottom-left of the POS Inventory Item Update screen and you're finished.
