Use Park Finder to find a park or facility

Updated on

Park Finder compiles all of Prince George’s parks and facilities in one place to make it easier for you to plan your next trip. Go to Parks Finder using this link.

Park Finder's map has red markers where parks and facilities are located. The map's filters are to the left, and the list of parks and facilities is below the map.

Filters

All of Park Finder’s filters are to the left of the map.

Search by park or facility

  1. Select SEARCH PARKS & FACILITIES, and you will see a search box and dropdown list with all of Prince George’s parks and facilities.
  2. Select the park or facility on the list that you want to visit.
    • Narrow the list by entering a park or location in the search box.
  3. The map will remove all red markers except for the location you selected.

You can select multiple parks from the SEARCH PARKS & FACILITIES dropdown list to view them on the map. You can also cancel a selected park or facility on the list.

Search by amenity

  1. Select SEARCH AMENITIES, and you will see a dropdown list of the amenities at Prince George’s parks and facilities.
    • This list contains most amenities that the public uses.
  2. Select the amenity on the list that you want to use.
    • Narrow the list by entering an amenity in the search box.
  3. The map will remove all red markers except for the locations with your selected amenity.

You can select multiple amenities from the SEARCH AMENITIES dropdown list.  You can also cancel a selected amenity on the list.

Accessibility checkboxes

The accessibility checkboxes will filter the map to show parks that are fully accessible, 100 percent of a park's amenities are accessible, or generally accessible, 50 percent of a park's amenities are accessible, according to 2010 ADA standards.

Select the checkboxes next to FULLY ACCESSIBLE and GENERALLY ACCESSIBLE to show only parks and facilities that meet the respective standards on the map. In the example, the map would show only markers for parks that meet full accessibility standards.

Map

Each red marker represents the location of a park or facility.

  • Move your cursor over a marker to see information about that park, including name, address, amenities, and accessibility.
  • The Clear All button below the map will remove any filter you have selected, return all red markers, and restore the default view (unless you still have an accessibility box checked).
  • Click and drag on the map to change its position on your screen.
  • Use the + andbuttons on the bottom-right side of the map to zoom in and out.

The page says you have multiple results, but you don’t see them. Set the results to view to All, and this will display all results.
There are no results.

Select Clear All and cancel the filters.

There's a result but no red marker.

That facility is missing GIS (geographic information system) data, and Parks and Recreation is hard at work to obtain that data.

The map isn't working.  If all else fails, refresh the page.
